FedEx to Acquire Watkins Motor Lines, a Leader in Long-haul Freight Transportation.
 Acquisition to allow FedEx to provide more choices for heavyweight deliveries; Addition of long-haul LTL capability expands freight portfolio to meet customer demand. 
FedEx Corporation announced an agreement to acquire the less-than-truckload (LTL) operations of Watkins Motor Lines and certain affiliates for $780 million, payable in cash. Heavyweight freight customers will benefit from the additional choice that this new, reliable and cost-effective solution will add to the FedEx Freight portfolio of services.

Arriva plc  announced an agreement to acquire 21.5 per cent of the total equity of Barraqueiro SGPS SA (Barraqueiro), the leading Portuguese passenger transport operator, for a consideration of þ60 million in cash (approximately £41 million). Arriva will be entitled to appoint two directors to the nine-person board of Barraqueiro.

Avion Group’s subsidiary company Eimskip, is pleased to announce the acquisition of 50% equity stake in Kursiu Linija, which is the only Lithuanian short sea container shipping line providing “door to door” freight delivery services in the Baltic States, Poland, Russia, United Kingdom and Northern Europe. The purchase price, which is undisclosed, will be financed by Eimskip’s equity.
