Airbus reached two major test milestones in the A380 programme this week.
In Hamburg (Germany), Airbus successfully completed the first extensive ground cabin tests in a fully equipped A380. During five hours of testing, 474 passengers and 20 crew members simulated a 15 hours flight, during which they tried all cabin systems, such as the In-flight Entertainment System, the water and waste system and the air conditioning system.

German Railways to Reach Russia

Russian Railways (RZD) and the Transport Ministry of the country sealed an understanding memorandum with German Siemens and Deutsсhe Bahn (DB) to cooperate in high-speed railway service. The experts say Siemens and DB may soon join the RZD project of high-speed railway, which is being revived.

Hans-Georg Brinkmann appointed Managing Director of Kühne + Nagel (AG & Co.) KG
Effective 1 July 2006, Hans-Georg Brinkmann (52) takes over as Managing Director of the German Kuehne + Nagel organisation with headquarters in Hamburg, and also assumes responsibility for the Central Europe Region comprising Germanyand Switzerland. He succeeds Ewald Kaiser, who is moving to the company’s corporate headquarters in Schindellegi, Switzerland, where he will focus on his responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer Rail & Road Logistics.

Lufthansa Technik to work with Ural Airlines

Contract covers Airbus A320-200 fleet
Ural Airlines, the sixth largest carrier in Russia, and Lufthansa Technik, the leading provider for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of airplanes, components and engines, signed a technical support agreement for the new Airbus A320-200 fleet. The initial two Airbus aircraft will join Ural Airlines´ fleet in September and will be complemented by an additional four A320 in 2007.

A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S announced that Germany-based, Eurogate, and APM Terminals, which is part of Danish shipping & oil group, A.P. Moller, will build a port facility in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. Eurogate will own 70% of the joint venture, called JadeWeserPort, and APM Terminals 30%.
