1. Quintana Maritime Limited Takes Delivery Of Its Second Kamsarmax Newbuilding

Quintana Maritime Limited (NASDAQ: QMAR) announced that it took delivery of its second Kamsarmax bulk carrier, Iron Fuzeyya, from Metrobulk. Iron Fuzeyya has a carrying capacity of 82,209 deadweight tons (dwt) and was built in January 2006 at Tsuneishi, a Japanese shipyard.

2. Quintana Maritime Announces Two Time Charter Agreements

Quintana Maritime Limited ("Quintana") announced that it has entered into a time charter agreement for the M/V "Coal Glory" and has extended the time charter agreement for the M/V "Barbara".  "Coal Glory" has entered into a time charter agreement with Cosco Bulk Carriers Ltd. for a minimum period of twenty-three months and a maximum period of twenty-five months at a daily rate of USD $15,800 per day. "Coal Glory" will be delivered to Cosco under the new time charter in early July. “Coal Glory” is a Panamax bulk carrier built in 1995 with a carrying capacity of 73,670 dwt.


3. Quay facilities for Berth #1 of Qingdao Container Terminal are manufactured as scheduled

According to the purchase contract signed by China Merchants Qingdao Container Terminal, the manufacturing of 4 sets of quay cranes and 10 sets of RTG for Berth #1 of the Terminal are going on smoothly. In the meantime, the first quay crane is being integrated while the other 3 are in the process of part assembling. Moreover, the main components of the 10 sets of RTG, scheduled to deliver in September and October this year, are in the making.  Source: Press release


4. Quintana Maritime Acquires 17 Bulkers

Creates One of Largest and Most Modern Fleets Among its U.S. Listed Peers
Company has time charter coverage on acquired vessels through 2010

Quintana Maritime Limited ("Quintana") (NASDAQ: QMAR) announced today that it has agreed to acquire seventeen vessels from Metrobulk, a privately owned Greek shipowner for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $735 million. The acquisition will be funded with approximately $191 million of proceeds from a private placement, which was led by Dahlman Rose & Co. and closed on May 11, 2006, and the balance with a proposed new credit facility led by Fortis Bank. The vessel acquisition was mediated and advised by Fortis Bank.


5. Quiet-running Hupac wagons
(News/Railways)

Hupac is systematically adapting its wagon fleet to meet noise abatement requirements. 65% of wagons for UCT and 100% of Rola wagons are fitted with low-noise brakes made with synthetic materials. Hupac is therefore on course to meet the Swiss federal law on noise remediation which envisages the modification of all wagons by the end of 2009. The noise limits set in the international TSI Noise standards, which come into force for all new vehicles from the middle of 2006, were implemented by Hupac several years ago.


6. Qantas to Provide Freighter Aircraft to Australian air Express

Qantas announced today that it would convert four Boeing 737-300 aircraft to freighters for domestic freight operator Australian air Express (AaE).
The Chief Executive Officer of Qantas, Mr Geoff Dixon, said this was the first jet freighter conversion work ever to be undertaken in Australia.

7. QantasLink Announces Q400 Queensland Route
(News/Air)

The Qantas Group's regional subsidiary QantasLink will increase its Queensland capacity by 18 per cent as its new Bombardier Q400 aircraft come into service over the coming months.

Qantas Executive General Manager Regional Airlines Narendra Kumar said the first of the new aircraft arrived in Brisbane this week, in preparation for entry into service on 26 February*.

"We are dedicating five of QantasLink's total order of seven new Q400s to Queensland," Mr Kumar said.


8. QVC Picks South Carolina for DC

Florence, SC – Citing infrastructure and proximity to the Port of Charleston, television shopping network QVC has announced it is building a one million-square-foot distribution center on 265 acres near Interstate 95 in South Carolina.

9. Qingdao Bonded Logistics Park Gains Endorsement of State Council
(News/Projects)

Qingdao Bonded Logistics Park recently underwent an inspection by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and received its endorsement. The park is an experimental linkage between ports and regions in Qingdao, a coastal city of east China’s Shandong province

The linkage between ports and regions is one popular international means of developing free trade zones (FTZ). It expands the policy of bonded areas to port areas for the implementation of regional connections, functional linkage and informational linkage between ports and bonded areas.
