A.N. Deringer, Inc., the international logistics services provider, today unveiled eManifest Solutions to help North American cross-border carriers and importers meet US Customs & Border Protection's (CBP's) requirements for the electronic submission of manifest data. The Automated Manifest System is the process by which CBP captures manifest data electronically. To satisfy the Trade Act of 2002, every truck shipment destined for the US will be required to input and transmit more than 150 data elements to Customs one hour in advance of arrival at the first US port of entry.
"Deringer has been involved from the very beginning in the testing and use of the Automated Commercial Environment's (ACE's) eManifest system and was the 1st company to file an eManifest on behalf of a carrier. Based on our experience with the ACE portal, we wanted to deliver a web-based solution that was user friendly, flexible, and would help carriers save time with data entry," commented Jake Holzscheiter, a Senior Vice President for Deringer. Deringer's eManifest services offer flexible options for the data entry and electronic filing of manifest information with CBP as well as represent a viable alternative to the ACE portal. Currently there are 39 ACE ports in the states of Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, and Washington. In May, CBP expects to deploy ACE at four ports in California, as well as in San Luis, Arizona. Source: Press Release
