The Danish shipping company Unifeeder is to launch a second weekly service between Rotterdam and Saint Petersburg. Starting next week, Unifeeder will offer departures on Wednesdays and Saturdays to the Russian port.
Both ships will load and unload in Saint Petersburg at Petrolesport. The Saturday sailing will also carry cargo for First Container Terminal, where it will be unloaded on Wednesdays. The ship, which leaves Rotterdam in the afternoon, will not only dock in Petrolesport, but also at the Northern Wharf. In Rotterdam, the Unifeeder ships will call at both ECT Home and ECT Delta.
The Danish shipping company is not the only one stepping up capacity to Russia. At the end of January, Delta Shipping put the newly-built, 917-TEU ‘Beluga Mastery' into service between Rotterdam and Saint Petersburg. The ship was rechristened 'Delta Rotterdam'. In the course of this year, Delta will be replacing its current fleet of ships with a capacity of 552-679 TEU by larger units of 750-917 TEU.
