Shekou container terminals (SCT) welcomed the first call of an Asia-Europe service, AE7W from Maersk Line on 22th February 2006, setting a historic milestone for SCT in cooperation with the world’s largest carrier for the first time.

The new service is scheduled to call at SCT every Thursday with the following rotation: Shanghai - Ningbo - Shekou - Hong kong - Singapore - Tanjung Pelepas - Salalah - Suez Canal - Rotterdam - Bremerhaven - Felixstowe - Antwerp – Dunkerque—Suez Canal—Shanghai.

So far, the ocean-going lines calling at SCT has been boosted to 39, covering the majority of the global shipping ports, including Americas, Europe, the Mediterranean, Southeast Asia, North Asia, Mid-east Asia and Australia etc.
