A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S announced that Germany-based, Eurogate, and APM Terminals, which is part of Danish shipping & oil group, A.P. Moller, will build a port facility in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. Eurogate will own 70% of the joint venture, called JadeWeserPort, and APM Terminals 30%.
The Visionaere could that not be dreamed such as WHV president John H. Niemann, who here-longed themselves for many years container terminal for Wilhelmshaven, probably. The goal becomes visible. The building of the port literally stands before the door.
And the optimism of the Wilhelmshavener, which had to convince first the large enterprises as well as the “small” and “large” policy of the project, was passed in the meantime to the future operators.
In addition those, which begin there now with us, in order to get the JadeWeserPort of the drawing board into the reality, are indeed not any backyard companies. Above all two things make the “new citizens” very pleasant for Wilhelmshavens. First of all euro gate and APM did not begin with the arrogance of their clenched resource. In the opposite they do not try with many arguments to describe their own concept for the container traffic take anything for given and naturally.
And secondly euro gate with the announcement sets to recruit workers particularly from the region to think thereby also of the long-term unemployed people to fill a convincing signal that a company does not come here into the alleged province, in order excluding the own cashes.
As and its fellow combatants have also euro gate and APM the JadeWeserPort completely obviously as a chance recognized Niemann, which is worth to seize it. Now it applies to vacate also the last hurdles from the way. Mayor Eberhard Menzel did the only correct yesterday, by explaining publicly and unmistakably that city and administration are available for it.
