GB Railfreight wins Serco Rail Operations deal Print
GB Railfreight, the award winning freight haulier, has signed an agreement with Serco Rail Operations to provide route conductors for its test trains and rail grinders.  GBRf will provide Serco with 150 route conductor shifts throughout the Southern and Anglia regions over the course of the one-year deal.

The conductors will be taken from GBRf’s train crew based at several locations around the London and south east area.

The first move under the contract will be a rail grinder service from Harwich to Colchester.

The deal is another significant step for GBRf as it seeks to grow its rail industry services business. It’s a market that the company takes very seriously.

“It’s clear that customers are reacting favourably to the introduction of our core values of reliability, innovation and customer service to this market,” said Phil Amos, GBRf’s business development manager. “We have successfully secured a number of deals and have identified a number of further business opportunities. It’s a part of our portfolio we intend to grow quickly.”

Dave Hooper, Managing Director Serco Rail Operations said: "At Serco Rail Operations we are leading the way in specialised rail services and it is good to do business with GB Railfreight who are complementing our national route coverage plan which is essential to deliver the Network Rail asset maintenance plans."
