U-Freight Korea specialises in the shipment of Hi-Tech consignments. In addition to the conventional import and export movements of hardware and components, this also involves value added services supporting JIT operations, door-to-door options and particularly, equipment packaging requirements. Comments Simon Wong, Chief Executive Officer of the U-Freight Group: "The promotion of Mr Chung is a natural progression for both him and U-Freight. Since he joined the company in 1997, Daniel has always demonstrated a very professional approach to the business of freight forwarding. "As a group, we firmly believe in promoting from within and given Mr Chung's substantial experience within the U-Freight Group, I am sure he will secure the future development of our presence in Korea in his new role as President of U-Freight Korea. Adds Mr Chung: "The market for freight and logistics services in Korea is very competitive. ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and the relocation of our airport hub to a larger, more modern unit will help us to strengthen and develop our warehouse-related logistics services to meet our customers' growing requirements for full supply chain management services." Across South East Asia, U-Freight has been expanding its logistics network particularly in its regional infrastructure and has opened many new facilities, not only in Korea, but also in China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. "The continuing development of our infrastructure enables us to offer customers greater capacity and flexibility in the way their consignments are handled. We have expanded our package of value-added freight and logistics service options. This has a double advantage - we improve our competitive edge and that of our customers by improving their performance," added Mr Wong. "All the developments in Asia represent a considerable investment for U-Freight and are a clear indication of our commitment to offer Asian shippers a wide range of competitive freight and logistics services."
