Logistics Centre Opened in Szczecin (Poland) |

On September 22 2005 the official opening ceremony for commencing West Pomerania Logistics Centre was held in Szczecin. On September 12, 2005 the ministers of Economy and Labour Minister, MPs, local government representatives and the port employees from Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority signed the Agreement between Szczecin and Swinoujscie Seaports Authority and the consortium of the following companies for West Pomeranian Logistic Centre in the port of Szczecin.
The investments are valued approx. $30,8 mn. West Pomeranian Logistic Centre will cover area about 30 ha in main transport route of general cargo handling grounds, next to container terminal on Ostrow Grabowski isle. The investment will include area pre-treatment preparation on 25.5 ha, parking yard construction for trucks and trailers, necessary infrastructure inclusive, access road 1850 m long in total, running railway rails, totally 1300 m long, electricity grid connection and water and information system building. Construction and civil engineering will be completed by July. Till then, it will be necessary to intensify marketing efforts to attract investors who would be doing business in the area of West Pomeranian Logistic Centre.
