Since the first business undertaken inside China Merchants Qingdao Bonded Logistics Park on 21 February 2006, import and export businesses begin to crop up. Up to 30 April 2006, exports was worth US$4.52 million and total commodity value reached US$4.46 million. Some 138 "one day" tickets have been issued to units using the Park to do business.
Since the official reception and examination of the Park, its business has increased substantially. Business in April increased by 3 times over that in March. Rapid and convenient clearance procedure, competitive costs and preferential tax return policies are favorable factors that have drawn the of more and more enterprises as well as have won their confidence in using the Park. As the Park develops, its impact on the economic hinterland has emerged. Currently over 40 enterprises, local and from other provinces, have benefited from the privileged policies adopted by the Park. Enterprises from Shangdong Province using the Park are from diverse cities Binzhou, Zhucheng, Zhibo, Tengzhou, Zhaoyuan, Wendeng, Yantai whereas enterprises from other provinces come from a great many provinces and major cities in China like HelongJiang, Shanxi, Shanghai, Jiangshu, Hebei, Tianjin etc.. Famous enterprises that have chosen the Park to import and export their products now include CIMC, Taiping, ZPSS, etc.. The successful operation of the Park has considerably improved the basic environment for import and export of Qingdao and has a far-reaching impact on promoting the manufacturing industrial sectors and the extrovert economy of Qingdao and the Shangdong Province to further success.
