World Leader in Building Materials Systems and Composite Systems Now Using Provia's ViaWare Solution in 33 Sites Across Eight Different Countries Provia Software, a leading provider of order-to-delivery supply chain execution software, announced today that Owens Corning, a world leader in building materials systems and composite systems, has deployed Provia's ViaWare Warehouse Management Solution (WMS) at six additional sites including Dallas, Texas; Napa, Calif.; Tallmadge and Navarre, Ohio; Chester, S.C. and Valleyfield, Quebec. This brings the total number of sites using Provia's ViaWare solution to 33, covering a span of 8 different countries.
"By deploying Provia's knowledge transfer methodology early-on, we were able to go live with multiple sites with little or no assistance from Provia," said Barry Burnham, Owens Corning's Project Manager. "Through our in-depth knowledge of the system, we were able to make smarter logistics decisions throughout the implementation, which in turn, helped us accelerate our logistics processes and maintain a competitive advantage."
The 33 sites using Provia's ViaWare solution cover a range of divisions within the company, from the insulation to composites to the exterior vinyl divisions, with the most recent deployments taking place in Owens Corning's cultured stone facilities. In these facilities ViaWare enables warehouse operators to manage inventory while the manufactured stone veneer cures in the warehouse, preventing the risk of shipping uncured material. In addition, it helps to eliminate double handling and provides warehouse operators with the ability to easily manage stock rotation.
"We are pleased to see that Owens Corning continues to roll out sites with our ViaWare solution across the globe and reap the long term benefits of the low total cost of ownership that Provia offers," said Paul Crist, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Provia. "Our total cost of ownership value proposition enabled Owens Corning to take ownership of their projects from the beginning, and maximize the value of our products, which has ultimately helped them achieve a much higher return on investment. We look forward to continuing and expanding our partnership with Owens Corning to help them further improve their logistics processes so that they can better serve their customers."
