Airbus MRO Network welcomes Lufthansa Technik AG as new member Print

One of the world's largest and most experienced aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) providers, Lufthansa Technik AG, Germany, signed an agreement with Airbus to become a new member of the Airbus MRO Network. Lufthansa Technik AG, with its roots going back as far as the early fifties, has continually expanded its Airbus maintenance capabilities and experience ever since the manufacturer's aircraft entered service in the 1970s


The Airbus MRO Network is designed to provide customers with a worldwide choice of competitive, quality maintenance services from MRO providers with Airbus aircraft experience. Since its launch in March 2005, Airbus has worked with the MRO Network members to establish performance benchmarks for maintenance efficiency and customer satisfaction. MRO improvement plans based on the performance benchmarking are currently underway which will result in enhanced services for Airbus customers.

August W. Henningsen, the Chairman of the Lufthansa Technik AG Executive Board, said: "Our entry into the Airbus MRO Network represents a further extension of our cooperation with Airbus, which already dates back decades. The new arrangements will simplify and accelerate the exchange of technical data. Combined with our strong engineering resources there will be a further increase in the efficiency of MRO services for Airbus airplanes."

Patrick Gavin, Executive Vice President, Airbus Customer Services, said, "We are delighted that Lufthansa Technik AG has joined the MRO Network. For many years Airbus has enjoyed a good working relationship with them in support of Deutsche Lufthansa - one of our biggest customers. With their wealth of experience and excellent reputation, Lufthansa Technik AG will make a welcome addition to our Network of first class MRO providers."

The Airbus MRO Network now includes the following 14 members:

Air Canada Technical Services - Sabena Technics
Air France Industries - SIA Engineering Company
Air New Zealand Engineering Services - Singapore Technologies Aerospace
EADS SOGERMA Services - SR Technics Switzerland
Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company - TACA Aeroman
Iberia Maintenance - TAP Maintenance & Engineering
Lufthansa Technik AG - TIMCO Aviation Services
